1. Tell us a bit about the image?
My 7 years old son is posing for me in our living room. The book he is holding is from the late ’20s. I love everything vintage!

2. What inspired you to take the shot?
I wanted to make a portrait of my older son and after I found the corduroy blazer my vision of the portrait started to form in my head.

3. What gear did you use for the shot including lighting?
Canon 5D SR & Canon 85 1.2L ii, window light

4. Tell us about the editing process?
I wanted something that reminded me of painterly or vintage look so I tried out different styles on virtual copies in Lightroom already. In photoshop I used FS2.0 and a touch of dodge & burn. At first, I applied a digital background but I noticed that for some reason the original background looked better. The look was perfected with camera raw filter (split toning, grain, film look preset) and a few layers of Infinite Color Panel for colour grading.

5. How does this piece reflect you as an artist?
I love moody and painterly portraits that remind me of the time gone and that may be described as soulful portraits. I also love to play with colours. I photograph my three children a lot! I am convinced I have learned the most out of these personal projects where I have been able to carry out my own visions with my loved ones.
